5-1-10 RACING

The wind was out of the north. Need I say more. As we all know, that north wind is full of surprises, and today was no exception. It never blew too hard, but the gusts and changes caught your attention in a hurry. The wind died down a little in the 3rd race, but was still a little tricky.
Among the eight skippers racing were Dave, Frank, Burton, Gary, Sandy, Miles, Bob and Tom. Burton won the first race with Sandy 2nd and Gary 3rd. In the second race, Sandy took first, with Burton 2nd and Frank 3rd. Sandy won again in the third race, with Frank 2nd and Gary 3rd.
Waiting on the dock for our return was our Commodore, Megan. Amber also came by, but didn't race.
During the lunch break, we all discussed the upcoming Wrangle on June 5th and 6th. Our Fleet Captain, Burton, went over some of the things we need to get done, and had volunteers step up to handle various tasks in preparation. We seem to be on the right track for a good regatta. So, please, mark your calendars to be there, and make this regatta a big success. More details will be out later as we get closer to the dates.
