The first thing I heard on Saturday was RAIN! No doubt, everyone and everything across the DFW area was saying ahh! We started the day with cloud cover, a break in the triple digit temperatures and a little wind. The result was a noticeable lift in everyone’s mood. That danged old heat and sun had definitely been wearing on us. The day was filled with light chatter all around the course.
Tom and Amber had duty and were busy trying to keep up with the wind as it played hide-and-go-seek. Tom wisely decided he was just going to set the course and let the racing begin. It was the kind of day where one minute you’re looking golden and the next, not so much. Luigi was first to the mark in one race and Laurie was first to the mark in another. At one point, Tom laughed and commented at the rare sight of Bruce and Doug fighting for last place. But, in the end, our better sailors (Bruce, Doug, Frank, Gary, Sandy) bubbled to the top with Frank appearing to have the best day of the group.
It was just a simple and fun day at the lake that was somehow quite satisfying in its simplicity. Here are few pictures.
