John, Gary, and me on a beautiful February day.   Hard to catch these guys.  Burton must have already rounded.
This winter has been good to us starting at the end of January - with this being the 4th Saturday in a row that we have sailed. It was very pleasant on the lake with temps in the upper 50's and wind mostly in the 5-10 mph range from the ESE. There were occasional lulls down to 2 mph and a few gusts up to 13 or so plus some surprising shifts just to keep it exciting.

C. and Paul did an excellent job of setting the race course, only resetting to a longer course for the last race. We had a total of 8 sailors with 6 Butterflys and 2 Lasers coming out to enjoy the day. Gary and John placed in the top three for all three races with Burton taking two and Gary taking one bullet. Jim beat me in the last race and he is improving fast.

Report from Gary:

The variable wind provided back and forth close racing!

Race committee setting the starting line.  Serious business!
Burton between races, looking happy to be out on the lake.

John checking the wind between races.
Jim looking more and more comfortable on his new Butterfly.  That's a pretty boat.
Larry contemplating buying a new sail.
