9/19-20/2009 - ROVING SAILOR REPORT

Eduardo Cordero, 8 time Sunfish world champion, flew in and spent the weekend at Rush Creek with a small group of sailors teaching them to walk on water (see picture). Tony Collins, who will be sailing with the Butterflys this winter on his Sunfish, coordinated with Eduardo to put on an intimate sailing clinic for a few lucky sailors. Shaun, Doug, me and one or two others bailed on sailing in CSC's Laser Regatta in order to take advantage of the rare opportunity to learn from Eduardo.

I believe the Butterflys could learn from the roll tack videos. Scott Young once told me to always roll tack the Butterfly but I haven't quite been able to pull it off. I now believe that it is similar to roll tacking a Sunfish. Slow and gentle. Thank you Eduardo and Tony for this most helpful event.
