Our day on the lake!

Start of the first race on a gorgeous January day.
C. offered excellent boat driving instruction.

Another gorgeous January day for Butterfly sailing, though on the light side.  Sunny skies, 45-55 degrees, winds 0-10 with winds mostly in the 5 to 6 range, northwest shifting to the west.

C. and I had race duty and set the first course a little long, plus the windward mark so far north the wind must have been particularly squirrelly there.  For the second race we shortened it and for the third race we shifted west.

We had five Butterflys on the line and it looked like everyone enjoyed the day.  Frank was pretty much on fire, placing 1st in the first two races and it was good to see a little competition for Paul though he managed to work his way up to place 1st in the final race.

Frank, two bullets and one 2nd place.
Lots of great sailing out there for the challenging conditions and a very enjoyable day just being out on the lake.

Paul and Frank in light air.
