I missed Valentine's Day on the lake but looks like lots of Butterfly sailors loved the warm February weather.

Twelve Butterflys on Feburary 14th.
Gary and John O. (Laser sailor) had race duty and it must have been a beautiful day on the lake. Gary first mentioned there were photos so I could see what I missed "John took several great photos of the fleet as we did race duty 2/14. Especially as a pack of boats (entire fleet) reached the windward mark."

Gary also pointed out " . . . even with all the shifting wind, starting from light east to swinging NW and finishing strong from the SW, the races were awful close as depicted in the picture".

And John O. commented "I think it was the second race, everybody was bunched at the windward mark, the reaching mark and the leeward mark before finally spreading out. Pretty awesome."

Pretty awesome, indeed.

Top three finishers for the races:

1st race, Doug P., Paul, and Sandy.

2nd race, Doug P., Bruce, and Tom.

3rd race, Burton, Doug P., and Paul.

Way to go guys!  And since it's tough to beat Paul I asked him about the 2nd race and he said "TOM DID BEAT ME. He sailed a great race to finish 3rd."

Gary on duty with John O. taking photos.  Looks like the wind picked up!
