10ish Butterflys, 5 Lasers, 2 Sunfish and WIND. Am I getting old or did everyone wake up a bit on the stiff side Sunday morning? I believe I heard the gusts were in the 20s when we were racing. I was only able to make 2 races before heading off to a meeting but it would seem 2 races was enough to get a workout. Of course, I did sail a J/24 Saturday evening as well. If no one else was hurting on Sunday, I'm opting to believe the J/24 did me in.
So, we had wind, good long courses, good racing and an excellent workout. Sandy got the first one by a good distance and Frank got the second. I managed a 2nd in the first and a 4th in the second, despite a bad start and dropping the tiller on a tack and doing a 360 (I thought those days were behind me). While working my way out of the middle of the fleet I looked behind me once to see Catherine and Amber. Both looked quite confident and in control in the wind. Amber looked like she had some serious speed in that new boat of hers. I think we'll see these two start moving up in the fleet before long. They have both expressed an interest in doing some training with Doug so we'll see what he can do.
Shaun was out in his newly acquired Laser grinning ear to ear and giving things a go. It will be interesting to see if sailing the very unforgiving Laser, improves his sailing in other boats. I'm betting he will swim alot and learn a ton.

In the first race Frank and Pam had a real duel to the finish that I enjoyed watching.
