1/2/2016 Racing

                                                                                                                            by Cathy (and Paul M.)

After three weeks of too much wind, 8 Butterflys and 4 Lasers managed to get in the first race of the year.  But just one race . . . since the light air evaporated into no wind at all.  Frank and John U. were on race committee and since I was home with a cold and watching through the harbor cam, I was grateful they set up part of the course so we could check it out from home.

The report from Paul M.:

We had 8 boats on the line for the 1st race (singular) of the year, with an earlier start we might have gotten 2-3 races in but the wind DIED right after the start. It took us 1 1/2 hour to get the 1 race in with Paul D. the victor.
Just a harbor cam photo but still fun to see the sailboats out and obvious the air is very light.
Fortunately most had just enough wind to sail in and then they finished cleaning off the docks from the most recent flooding.  Thanks for that and it appears we are done with flooding, at least for awhile.  Hoping for some "goldilocks" sailing weather for 2016!
